July 2009

Hi Dear peregrinos, friends and relatives
Here in Aus it has been pretty cool and wet this month and my walks have suffered because of that, rather than my knee problem although today was not such a good one for the knee. Still I hope to get it strong enough to go on camino again next year.

We have had some bright days this week even if they start off cold. I managed to take a few photos by the river and Maisie revamped her song called Rain on the River with some of them.

I'm not sure if she has put it on the web but she did let me send it to some of you! I meantime have also tried to remake videos of my Caminos but using Power Point to get clearer photos! As yet I find they are still to big too send out to everyone so if anyone knows how to get PPS files small I would love to hear from you!

We spent one day out with the van to try things out and had a nice day by the Swan river watching the boats too

The van has also kept me busy and the fridge now slides in and out in a draw so that when using it on bottled gas it is outside the van!! I can't believe it has taken most of this month to do that!!! There was so little room and every time I fitted one bit it seemed to make something else that I had thought finished, now not work, the door not close, or the fly screen not fit!!!

The roof and walls are now padded and timber beams set it all off nicely

Fridge inside when on electric

lid up

Fly net and fridge outside set for gas use

With cooker open, much has to be painted and varnished yet

My son John and his family made a flying trip up to Perth this month for a weekend but as he had to buy a new car we were unable to spend as much time with them as we would have liked.
Josie has taken up the paintbrush and has produced some lovely portrait work that she has shown to the public. Alex has done some great drawings too.

My other granddaughter Lizzy now plays trumpet and the school band went on stage in Perth's big Burswood Casino's Theatre the other evening, and that gave us proud grandparents a nice evening out too.

Maisie won twice in a numbers draw and won enough meat for 4 evening dinners for the two of us at the bowls club so we won't starve next month chuckle

My Camino friend Cathy says she is finding the clovers with the four leaves again in Germany,

but here I haven't seen a clover for months! But now there are a few but still no four leaves as yet! The council keeps spraying for weeds and this type of clover gets zapped all the time, I say the B… environmental Australians don't deserve the luck if they do this all the time! Chuckle!
Many of you have been on holiday I know and we hope you all had great fun and lots of good weather.
More news and photos can be seen on the website and Maisies Blog has the school band playing

Well till next month
Hasta pronto
Michael
