September in the rain 2009

September 2009

I am pleased to say Maisie is fit again and the itchy rash has gone from her ant bites.

I think the first thing we did this month was to clear my sheds of heaps of junk!!! Caravan parts and computer bits
(we had a plague of mice at least 10 were discovered in boxes in the shed! Not the furry sort, the plastic computer ones.)

During the month I worked on Cathy's story of her trip to Iran so do go have another look at that as it is much improved now. You will find that in Friends Adventures Also I am working on a new Blog called Light a candle this is the story about my Via del Plata Camino in 2004. You might have to Google for this as yet but I will try to add it to my blog lists on the left side

Next event was we went to hear Josie play trumpet in the band and I think Maisie has put a little of that on her Blog It was very good and we enjoyed the show.

John and family visited on their way to Mooloolaba for their holiday in the eastern states, here we see Maisie and John playing., to hear them go to Maisies Blog

Spring is here and I show you a lot of the wild flowers that are out at the moment. The rain can be seen on some chuckle! We have had our share this month with more rain for the month than we have had for ten or more years I believe. Still it is getting better and for a few days and I have been singing and making up songs as I go along snapping shots of birds and flowers.

The little steam trains were running one Sunday, and I saw them preparing them the day before, and got some great video and close up photos that day. The video of the one letting off its steam was great but afterwards I found out the chap had been called away and the thing was at the point of exploding with a burst boiler!!!

The next day was pouring with rain, and as I walked by I saw all the visitors under the station shelter waiting for the rain to stop so as to give all the parents and kids their rides! As I left the rain did stop and they would have had a great day.

Last weekend Maisie and I took the Transit to the hills and had a lovely walk through the forest but guess who forgot to charge his camera battery !!!! Sorry

The old Chev had to have its starter repaired but was up and running and tested in time to carry the bridesmaids to the wedding of one of the daughters of a Chev Club member and very glamorous they all looked too. I never took the car but let Peter, a club friend, drive it. That was the first time anyone other than me has been allowed to drive the old gal since she has been restored! The Bride was taken in her father's 29 Chev that he had rebuilt too, so both cars were of the same year!
I realised that this year it is her eightieth birthday! chuckle Not the bride, the car!!!) Here is a poem I wrote that we later adapted as a song called

The other woman

She turns the heads when on the lawn,
I tickle her and soon we’re gone.
When is her birthday, is it twenty nine?
She will never tell but I know she’s mine.

I remove her bonnet and insert my tools,
her eyes shine like my family jewels.
Her working parts I cover in oil,
I think with me she’s inclined to boil.

I feel the sweet vibration of our rides.
The sweeping curves of her beautiful sides.
This head that commands such power,
her body gleams when we take a shower.

Oh! a skin so smooth and has no ripples,
the squeaky noise when I grease her nipples.
Those smooth round things that I caress.
and when under her I’m all a mess.

and what if she gives no indication,
or will the sun spoil her pigmentation?
There’s no complaint should at lunch I ride,
and have a little bit on the side.

but she returns with her usual spring,
Though it made her lean and sing,
I believe I heard a sweet little grown
as she found a position of her own.

She seems to respond as I touch her seat,
she’s a sex symbol standing in the street.
I sometimes think I’m getting soft.
’cos I worry should she check or cough.

Driven hard by a handsome hunk.
Oh! the shape of that lovely trunk,
she always wears that cute little cap
and I dream of her if I take a nap

I see the badge perched there above,
as I slide my hands over with my love,
I whisper the words she likes, you bet,
“I love you my sweet Chevrolet”

I have a dear friend in Denmark (Europe) who told me about a web site that was encouraging people to sing for the earth in each time zone and therefore send music all around the world. http://www.singtheearth.com/index.html

I told Maisie and we rang around our old friends that used to sing with us when we were known as USLOT. All readily agreed and we had great fun on the 22nd between 5 and 7o'clock singing our hearts out. You can hear us on one of the videos on Maisies Blog
