Hi Peregrinos friends and relatives

The Canning River W.A
I thought I should show a few of the photos I have taken here on the River Canning this month.
Sure! I have been oil painting this month too, but as the picture is big and complicated and not finished, I will put it on my painting blog only.
My walking has been my escape as the weather warmed up and as the flowers and birds are out enjoying the sunshine I thought I should be too. Anyway lets look at the photos of the flowers and river.
At the beginning of the month the tides were low and the
river started to show green algae which is not healthy for it. Here near the café where I stop and turnaround most days it is very shallow and looks like green islands instead of the grey mud that normally shows at a low tide. I must admit it looks healthier now at the end of the month.
The seagulls, ducks and black swans didn't seem to mind though. Sadly the swans have lost their two signets so they let me get very close.

I like this aerial acrobat and mud walker

Maisies Birthday celebration was a great success and you can see those photos on Maisies blog
Just as I was leaving the house one morning a bob tail came to see us these strange creatures have a blue tongue and are often called blue tongue lizards. Amazing how once he got on the garden, he blended into the background.

I do walk by some houses and in a garden saw this flower that I believe is a native to Australia. They are as big as a dinner plate

We went to a large dinner for the winners of council art competitions where Jo, Lizzy and Alex had won prizes. See again Maisie's blog.

About then the jacarandas came out in that lovely purple flowers and are still out today, leaving a purple carpet of flowers underneath, also the bourganvillea

More of the swans and seagulls

and by now the tree that suddenly blooms yellow and is known here as the Christmas tree as they flower in time for Christmas

and these pretty native pom-pom flowers that I know from seeing them planted to restore the balance of native flowers in the parklands by my friend Jo, a park volunteer

Bees love them and go nuts as if drunk going from flower to flower

Well Christmas is almost upon us so have a great time and see you all next month
